A new competition is coming to The Depot. The inaugural DDL Champions League will begin in 2027, giving this season’s League Table an added importance as the race for qualification enters its closing stages.

The top ten players in the final 2026 DDL League standings will qualify. World Ranking position will not decide entry: qualification will be based solely on the final league table after the season has been officially completed and confirmed.

Those ten qualifiers will be divided into two groups of five using their finishing positions. Group A will contain the players who finish 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th. Group B will be made up of 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th and 10th.

That odd-and-even split is designed to produce two balanced groups while rewarding every place earned during the 2026 campaign. Each player will face every opponent in their group twice, creating eight group matches per player before the competition moves into its knockout stage and final.

For the title contenders, the announcement adds another prize to an already important run-in. For those battling around the middle of the table, it creates a clear target: finish inside the top ten and secure a place in the DDL’s newest competition.

No player has qualified yet. The groups will remain marked TBC on the website until the 2026 season is formally finalised, at which point the DDL Champions League section will automatically place the final top ten into their correct groups.

The full 2027 field will therefore be decided at the oche over the remainder of this season. First comes the qualification race. Then come the group battles, the knockout matches and the chance to become the first DDL Champions League winner.

A new stage is waiting. The road to the 2027 DDL Champions League starts with every point still available in 2026.
