Privacy & website analytics
DDL uses first-party aggregate statistics solely to understand and improve this website: which pages are useful, how often they are read, and whether match notifications help visitors reach them.
A randomly generated browser token is stored on your device for up to 30 days. It estimates repeat visits; it is not your identity and is not connected to your account, favourite player or push subscription. It is sent only to our analytics endpoint, immediately reduced to aggregate counting registers, and never stored in the analytics database. There is no stored visitor-by-visitor browsing history.
We keep page-view totals, approximate unique-view counts, broad mobile/desktop/tablet categories and whether an arrival was marked as coming from a DDL push notification. We do not store names of visitors, email addresses, IP addresses, exact locations, full device descriptions, subscription endpoints or encryption keys in analytics. Public player names appear only as the titles of the pages being measured.
Only DDL Admin can view the statistics. Daily aggregates are kept for 400 days; all-time aggregate totals remain available. Hosting processes requests to deliver this service, but no advertising or third-party analytics service is added.
These measurements start when analytics is enabled on the site. They cannot identify individual people: different devices, cleared browser storage, expired tokens, blockers and opt-outs affect estimates. Live-page counts include visits to completed match pages and are not simultaneous audience figures.
Use the control below in the footer to turn analytics off at any time, free of charge. This deletes the analytics token and remembers your objection on this browser. We also honour Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Turning analytics off does not affect scores, results or notifications. Previously collected anonymous aggregates cannot be separated back into individual visits.
The analytics are designed for the UK statistical-purposes exception: aggregate information to improve DDL, with clear information and a simple opt-out. We do not use them for advertising, profiling or decisions about individual visitors.
For privacy questions, contact the DDL organiser through your usual league contact.
