Duncan has become one of the most dangerous players in the Depot Darts League after putting together five consecutive victories.
His winning streak began against Dean S and continued with victories over Adrian, Chalkey, Angus and Stewart. It is the strongest possible response from a player attempting to close the gap at the top of the table.
Duncan currently occupies third position with 39 points from 18 league matches. He sits ten points behind leader Gary—but has played three fewer games.
Those games in hand make Duncan’s recent form especially significant. The chasing pack cannot simply look at the current points difference; they must also consider what could happen if Duncan continues converting those extra matches into victories.
His run has included different kinds of opponents. Dean S and Stewart brought experience, Adrian arrived capable of causing an upset, and Chalkey has remained competitive throughout the season. The victory over Angus was particularly important, with both players operating in the upper half of the table.
Five matches. Five wins. Fifteen points.
The league title is still in Gary’s hands, while Duane currently holds second place. However, Duncan’s winning streak has ensured that the closing stages of the season will not be straightforward.
The question is no longer whether Duncan can put together a challenge. It is whether anyone can stop the run.
