Monday’s DDL programme now features Duane against Adam, after Alan’s meeting with Scott was moved to Friday 25 September. This early preview uses the table and results recorded on Saturday 12 September, including Friday’s wins for Duncan and Angus. Any later results or fixture changes could alter the picture before Monday.

DUANE vs ADAM — A chance to reclaim second. Duncan’s victory over Matt has moved him onto 42 points, leaving Duane third on 40. A Monday win would take Duane to 43, back above Duncan and six points behind leader Gary on the current standings. It would also put a little pressure on the two players ahead of him before their scheduled Tuesday matches.

Duane has won four of his last five recorded league games. Victories over Adrian and Stewart were followed by defeat to Barry, before wins over Matt and John L restored momentum. Adam’s last five read loss, loss, win, win, loss: defeats against Matt and Jon G, victories over Adrian and John L, then defeat to Gary.

The table makes Duane the favourite, but Adam offers a clear warning against assuming the points are already won. Their previous recorded meeting finished level, and Adam has drawn seven of his 20 league games. Sitting 11th on 25 points, he could reach 28 with victory and move above Chalkey on the current table. Duane has the stronger recent record; Adam has already shown he can deny him a win.

THE VERDICT — Duane starts as the form favourite, but this is not a foregone conclusion. Adam has previously held him to a draw and has made a habit of sharing the points this season. Monday gives Duane the chance to reclaim second place before Gary and Duncan return to the oche on Tuesday.
